A Mug of Love

What do you do on your days off? Well, since Monday was a holiday, I decided I would get in touch with my crafty side and attempt to make my own personalized mugs. I’ve seen a ton of pins about making personalized mugs using a sharpie and thought that it was easy enough for me to handle.

I was so excited because I knew just what I was going to put on the mugs! For those of you who know me, you know that when I find something I really like, I obsess over it (i.e. Cupcakes and Cashmere, and Sex and The City), hence why I chose to use my two favorite E. E. Cummings’ poems. Don’t judge me for being so predictable. ;]

I was shocked at how easy it was to make these mugs.

Supplies needed:

1. Sharpies. Pick different colors for different designs or stick with black.

2. White mugs (however many you choose to make).

3 An oven set at 350 degrees.

Pick whatever you wish to draw, write, or design on your mug and use your sharpies to apply your artwork. A little secret-Windex is a great tool for removing any mess ups. The beauty of homemade crafts is that they do not have to be perfect. They are simply your creation and made from the heart.

Once you have drawn your design on to your mug, place it in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees and let the sharpie literally bake into the mug. Verrrryyyyy carefully, remove the mug from the oven and let cool for about 30-45 minutes. Once the mug has cooled, you are ready to enjoy your beverage of choice!
